The Sports Illustrated For Kids Kick-It 3v3 Tour, the largest 3v3 soccer tour in the world, brings its Rocky Mountain Regional event to Vail on August 4-6, 2006. The event will take place at Ford Fields and Vail Valley Athletic Fields, located at 700 S. Frontage Road East. Top teams from ten local qualifying events, including Albuquerque, Boulder, Greeley, Littleton, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Salt Lake City and Tucson will compete for their spot at the Kick-It 3v3 World Championships hosted by
Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex in Florida. An estimated 400 teams, 2,400 participants and 8,000 spectators will make their way to Vail for the ultimate 3v3 competition.
Overall, more than 3,000 teams will take part in Kick-It's 11 Regional Championship events across the United States. Each of these 3,000 teams finished in the top five for their division in qualifying tournaments, establishing themselves as contenders for Regional and World Championships titles. The weekend of Jan. 13-15, top Regional finishers will go head-to-head at Disney to capture the prestigious Kick-It Cup, and a first place position on the Kick-It 3v3 national rankings.
Now in its 16 th year, Kick-It offers players of all ages and abilities a festival-style atmosphere filled with fun, dynamic, and fast-paced competition. Pool play kicks into action on Friday with each team showcasing its talent to compete for first, second and third place prizes on Sunday. This eventful weekend also features family-friendly entertainment with inflatable games, instructional clinics, soccer skill challenges, food and activities.
