National soccer showcase coming to Boulder
Contributed by: Jerry Howard on 1/21/2008

Biokats Sports Network will host its National Soccer Showcase on January 26 at University of Colorado, Biokats president Jerry Howard announced today.

"With the challenges of the recruiting process in mind, our goal is to provide student-athletes an opportunity to showcase their talents while providing college coaches the opportunity to evaluate potential recruits at one venue," said Howard. "We are very excited about the National Soccer Showcase in Boulder because we have tremendous support from local high school and club coaches."

This event is unique in the soccer world. In Soccer, most recruiting occurs at tournaments. However, it's difficult to find players at the large tournaments and see what they can do during the games. High school players are invited to attend. NCAA Division I, II and III programs, as well as NAIA and junior college teams are expected to be represented.

This event is drawing kids from Colorado, Kansas, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming.

Cost to attend the event is $60 per student-athlete. There are two sessions, both coming on January 26. Session 1 begins at 8:30am for the girls, with Session 2 starting at 12:30 pm for the boys.
