Parks and Recreation employee training for first half marathon featured on The Weather Channel
Maura Holden, an employee with the city of Boulder's Parks and Recreation Department, is being featured on The Weather Channel as she trains for her first half marathon. Holden, a full-time special events and volunteer coordinator with the city's Parks and Recreation Department and mother of two elementary-age children, is being featured as she balances career, parenting and training in a series of video clips airing on The Weather Channel through December.
Holden was selected to participate in The Weather Channel's program after answering an open casting call at Warren Miller Company for a mom looking to get into shape through running. Holden participated in a phone interview, did a screen test and met with the production crew before being selected.
The Weather Channel Atlanta Half Marathon will be held on Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008.
Holden's husband, children and parents will attend the half marathon to cheer her on.
