Why I hate Duran Duran

I hate Duran Duran for a few reasons. Their lyrics make no sense. Let's look at Girls on Film shall we.

Lipstick cherry allover the lens as she falling
In miles of sharp blue water coming where she lies
The diving man coming up for air
Cause the crowd all love pulling dolly by the hair,
by the hair
And she wonders how she ever got here
As she goes under again

Paraphrasing a quote from Nicolas Cage in "The ROCK" what in the name of Zeus' butt hole does that mean?

It;s just so hard to listen to music from guys lthat ook better in make up than I do.

As far as bands or performers from the late 70's early 80's. Give me Joe Jackson or Elvis Costello. At least they are still performing new music as well as their hits. They may not be as popular in the Sates as they were back then, but at least they are still creating new music. Have yet to either of them on VH1's where are they now? or one hit wonders

Besides there is just something to the line from Elvis Costello's "Watching the Detectives"
She's filing her nails while they're dragging the lake.
Anyway that's my take on music.

Love Elvis Costello, love Joe Jackson. In 100% agreement on Duran Duran (although when I think of "Rio" I also get that guilty jones for the good old MTV days). As another quality music recommendation from the 80's, buy yourself the Talking Heads concert DVD "Stop Making Sense" (1984 show, I believe). That band can flat out play, and what a show (also, I don't believe Zeus' butthole will come into play at all)!

Your choice is unassailably correct.

"And I'm hungry like the wolf..."

Agreed on Elvis Costello and Joe Jackson. But I have to admit, whenever I hear a Duran Duran song I long for my '80s-era Mtv.

Don't sell yourself short baby. You look hot in or out of makeup.
