mims much ado about nothing
My blog(by the way, that is an ugly word)could well be titled Diary of a widowed aged insomniac who is old enough to quit feeling guilty about her lack of housewifely virtues, cooking, yard work,etc...have reached the age when I want to reminise about the olden days, marvel in disbelef of the nowdays and I have so much to say about every day and noone to listen! Until the blog! I have a loving family, some of whom feel I am extremely witty and some of whom feel I am witless, but they all love me and they are all my very life. Nothing gives me more pleasure than causing them to chuckle or giggle and if i could do the same for others it would please me. A reader of some of my trials and tribulations that I intend to speak of need not fall on the floor in proxyisms of glee..but perhaps a small smile with which they can relate would be satisfying. My tales will all be true with just a wee bit of exaggeration caused by a quirky imagination and sense of humor that I would hope to impart. Will hope to keep them seasonal but I do go off on tangents. You youngsters skip my blogs....they will be meaningless...it is as we age that we need to be able to laugh at ourselves and the tricks that our minds and bodies have played on us. Laughter IS the best medicine...along with an aspirin or two perhaps.

When we last visited about this subject I had located a broom, but no dustpan. So rather than wait till next spring I went ahead and swept the kitchem floor and discovered all shapes aand sizes of tidbits I scooped it all into a pile and found a piece of cardboard which I laid flat on the floor to scootch my pile of debris on to carry to the wastebasket...don't waste your time it doesn't work! The debris goes over and under the cardboard with enuff left over to sprinkle your tennies. So I painstakingly made a new pile and ,unobtrusively I hope, put it in the corner till the discovery of my old dust pan or purchase of a new one, which ever comes first
So now I am ready to deal with the rugs as I remember my Mom and/or grandma doing. They would gather the rugs, take them outside, one by one shake the dirt out with a couple of firm authortive flippoty floppties. On my first attempt I gathered a corner firmly in each hand, gave required flippity floppity shake and had the satisfaction of watching the dust, dirt, hair balls etc. rise off of the carpet and oh, oh, oh fall to settle on my hair and body.! I am pretty sure that isn't spos' to happen Perhaps if i try it matador style holding the rug to the side enticingly. ?Nope, can't get enough of a grip for even one flippity. Another rug, the original grip, and with more gusto a flippity, fliipty, flop, leap backwards..and I don't know how that turned out as I limped into the house, with a twisted ankle to take a much needed shower and to plan my next stratedgy. I refuse to touch them anymore today and am leaving them in their disgusting pile out side tonight with the fervent hope we will get our expected snow and I wii not be able to find them tomorrow. I remember also how the larger area rugs would be taken out, hung over the clothes line and thoroughly beaten with a broom. I have a clothesline still, but only three clothespins..heaven help the person who has been stealing my clothes pins if I ever catch them! Lucky I don't have a large area rug...the mood I am left in I could beat them to shreds with a whisk broom.
