One dozen pastors in the North Denver Metro Area are trading places the weekend of November 18th and 19th, 2006. In a unique show of unity and single-minded purpose, twelve pastors who regularly pray together will be trading pulpits and preaching in one another's churches.
At a July backyard Pastor's Bar-B-Q someone asked the question, "What would happen if we took a weekend and exchanged pastors for the day?" The result was that names were drawn from a hat to determine who would preach where. One uniqueness of this event stems from the fact that of the dozen pastors, four are Baptist, three are Independent Charismatic, two are Assembly of God and the others are Lutheran, Presbyterian and Community Church pastors.
>Pastor Scott Cheatham will preach at First So. Baptist Westminster for Pastor Dan Dellinger
>Pastor Dan Dellinger will preach at Rangeview Community for Pastor Scott Cheatham
>Pastor Gary Hines will preach at His Sanctuary for Pastor Marlin Bender
>Pastor Marlin Bender will preach at Word of Life for Pastor Ken Murphy
>Pastor Ken Murphy will preach at Our Faith Baptist Church for Pastor Luther Whatley
>Pastor Luther Whatley will preach at Presbyterian Church of Broomfield for Pastor Ed Black
>Pastor Ed Black will preach at St. Stephen's Lutheran for Pastor Dave Denzer
>Pastor Dave Denzer will preach at Crossroads Church for Pastor Kim Skattum
>Pastor Kim Skattum will preach at New Life for Pastor Bo Sosa
>Pastor Bo Sosa will preach at Crosstimbers for Pastor Russ Cole
>Pastor Russ Cole will preach at Harvest Church for Pastor Steve Valdez
>Pastor Steve Valdez will preach at North Huron Christian for Pastor Gary Hines
In a unique demonstration of unity, these pastors are committed to showing a common love for God and the Bible by preaching from the same text: St. John's Gospel 17:20-23. Each pastor will preach for 30 minutes at each of the host church's services.
