Do you need an excuse to play bridge? Here it is -- the BRIGHTON BRIDGE MARATHON. This year's marathon is scheduled to begin in October and conclude next May with a celebratory luncheon. Marathon participants play once a month for seven months to build high scores. Prizes are awarded at the luncheon for highest scores for the season. There are several daytime flights (groups) for which participants are needed. The cost of participating in the marathon is $12 per person per flight. Real bridge lovers may wish to and can play in more than one flight. The marathon is sponsored by the FA Chapter of the P.E.O. Sisterhood of Brighton. P.E.O. is a philanthropic and educational organization interested in offering increased opportunities for higher education to Brighton women and senior girls. Chapter FA is building a scholarship fund within the P.E.O. Foundation to be used exclusively for scholarships. Proceeds from the Brighton Bridge Marathon support this scholarship project. Didn't play last year? Grab a partner and call to register. Don't have a partner? That's OK- -go ahead and register, and you will be partnered with a new friend. Couples are welcome as participants, too. Please call Bobbi Jo at 303-659-4907 to register for the marathon or for answers to questions.
