Adams County police blotter


Man arrested for threatening worker. A 19-year-old man was taken into custody Aug. 15 after he allegedly barricaded himself inside his apartment and threatened a maintenance worker with a knife. Westminster Police were called to a disturbance at 11:30 a.m. at Lakeview Apartment Complex near 68th Avenue and Lowell Boulevard. The suspect was destroying his apartment and threatening a worker for unknown reasons.

Liquor store cashier assaulted. A 36-year-old employee at a liquor store was struck with a metal pipe Aug. 3 while chasing a shoplifter. The incident happened at approximately 9:18 p.m. at Cork and Keg Liquors, 6935 Lowell Blvd. The employee told police a man grabbed a bottle of wine from the store and ran out of the building without paying. The cashier attempted to chase him, but was struck with a pipe by an unknown man outside of the store. Police were unable to locate the suspects.

Driver busted with methamphetamine. A 28-year-old Denver man was placed into custody Aug. 4 after he was found with about .33 grams of meth. Police pulled the man over at 9:08 p.m. near Sheridan Boulevard and 72nd Avenue in Westminster due to a busted out taillight.

Pot smoker proud of pipe. An 18-year-old Arvada man spoke highly of his marijuana pipe before it was confiscated Aug. 7. The man was contacted by police at about 1:17 p.m. on the 4500 block of 69th Drive. After a search revealed the paraphernalia in his right front pocket, the man allegedly stated, "That pipe is from the '70s and has seen a lot of weed."

Son, mother get in tangle. A 22-year-old Northglenn man was cited for disorderly conduct Aug. 5 after he allegedly assaulted his mother. The fight occurred at around midnight at an apartment complex on the 900 block of West 103rd Place in Northglenn. A report indicated he kicked his mother in the head.

Driver dies in I-25 accident. The driver of a Jeep Liberty was killed Aug. 17 in a multiple-car crash on the 11100 block of I-25 in Northglenn. The accident, which occurred at approximately 7:10 p.m., closed down northbound lanes of the interstate. Three other people were transported to the hospital.
