Brighton Collegiate to host "Meet and Greet"
Contributed by: Alexa Gunther on 8/6/2008

Brighton Collegiate High School will host a "Meet and Greet" open house at the school for the general public on Monday, August 11, 6-7 p.m. The open house will provide the public, including current and potential students and their parents, the opportunity to informally meet and converse with faculty and board members. Brighton Collegiate is located at 3551 Southern Street, on the corner of Southern and Telluride streets.

The open house will also be a chance for the public to meet the new principal, Kirk Salmela, Ph.D. Dr. Salmela has a total of 15 years combined experience as a high school principal in Illinois and Colorado, and most recently was the director of alternative education in the Keenesburg school district.

Brighton Collegiate High School is a charter school of the 27J school district. The mission of the school is to provide a seamless transition from high school to college and to provide students with post secondary education opportunities. The school partners with Front Range Community College to enable students to earn college credit as well as high school credits while attending the school.
