The Thornton Veterans Memorial Foundation recently announced that the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall will be coming to Thornton for Independence Day 2008.
As sponsors of the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall visit, the Thornton Veterans Memorial has undertaken the task of organizing, planning and orchestrating the Wall's visit and all the events surrounding it. We are in need of volunteers to help us make this event a success and we are looking for members of the metro area community and civic groups to help.
There are a number of areas with which we could use yours or your groups help. Just a few of the places we need volunteers for include:
- Wall information booth
- Thornton Veterans Memorial booth
- Merchandise booth
- Coordinators for various events and activities
- Assistants to help visitors find names on the wall
- Provide or distribute refreshments to volunteers
- Take down of the Wall on July 7
