Vintage steam locomotive in Brighton

As many Brighton residents know, when the Cheyenne Frontier Days celebration kicks off in mid summer, one of the several operational steam locomotives maintained by the Union Pacific Railroad may be seen running down the railroad track that cuts through the city.

Train buffs, known as railfans, flock to their favorite observation sites to catch a glimpse of the thundering beast as it pulls a set of vintage passenger cars filled with waving people. It also brings along a small piece of the past with black smoke belching out the stack and the steam whistle filling the air with the sound that trains used to make
