7-year-old die hard Rockies fan
Contributed by: Sonja McKenzie on 6/1/2008

My name is Kaitlyn and I just turned 7 years old. I love the Rockies because they have the best mascot in the majors - Dinger. Last year, I had my picture taken with him twice. He even let us pose with him on the suite level for a special picture with my cousin, Mason. He also autographed my stuffed Dinger.

Matt Holiday is my favorite player. I especially like it when he slides into home plate. Earlier this year, I did my own version of a Matt Holiday slide during a kickball game and ended up with scrapes and marks on my face. I got a Matt Holiday World Series jersey for my birthday.

This year, I have already gone to a Cubs game with my cousin, Mason. I enjoy teasing Mason when the Rockies beat the Cubs. Unfortunately, even though we stayed late to root on the Rockies, this year, the Cubs defeated them. I was tired when I had to go to school the next morning, but it was worth it. Other fans enjoy being around when I am at the game. Last year, the couple in front of us was amazed when Matt Holiday hit a homerun with the bases loaded and I shouted out that he had hit a grandslam. I know my baseball lingo well. I would love to win a suite for a Rockies game and would invite all of my cousins to join me at the game.
