Brighton boys stopped short

Brighton High School came up short against a dominant Montbello team in the boy's 5A state basketball tournament Feb. 24. After beating Douglas County to advance to the second round, Brighton fell to the Montbello Warriors 77-56.
Brighton finishes the season 18-7 while Montbello (16-8) advances to play Chaparral (22-1) in the sweet sixteen March 1 at Alameda High School.
