Two weeks. Fourteen days. Don't ask me how many hours it is. I have no idea. I'm no mathematician anyway. All I know is that two weeks is going to fly by and I have to get about a million things done before my life goes into warp speed.
I'm a mom first and foremost. I spend the bulk of my time doing mom things, but it's not the only thing I do, thank me very much. I happen to be fairly organized and know how to schedule my day, which has allowed me to focus on other things now that my kids can all use a bathroom like a normal person should. I've got a few hobbies outside of children, and enjoy the fact that I am discovering who I am at 36 years old. Life is good.
I decided to go back to school about 6 months ago and just finished up my first Biology class. At some point I'd like to become a nurse, but I am on the "taking my time" plan and will just attack my goal one class at a time. And this is why I only have two weeks.
In two brief weeks I will begin another class. And while I am taking this intensive class, my three children will be out of school for the summer. We will get up every morning and hit the ground running. They will begin going to a variety of VBS, Sports camps, Invention camps, and swim lessons. We will not have a lot of down time. I will have fruit in the house, and because I'm cheap, I will make sure we eat lunch at home almost every day. I am going to work with my son
Jack on math facts every day, and I am going to try to get through it all without tears. ( from either of us ). We will all wear flip flops every day, the kids because it's easy, and me, because I have beautiful feet. We will hike and picnic, and go to the park before the Colorado sun saps all our strength. We will run through the sprinklers and play with water guns. We will appreciate the long days together.
It will all go by too quickly, and school will be here before we know it. So for now, I'm going to enjoy my two weeks of solitude. Maybe I'll give myself a pedicure. Or take a nap. If I was really smart, I'd begin memorizing all the muscles in the human body.
