Well, I managed to get through the first two weeks of my summer class with only eight more to go. ( Anatomy and Physiology) It didn't hurt that the kids were at VBS all week, so I had some extra quiet time to study for the first test. I feel good about it, although I didn't the night before the exam. For some reason I let the two 19 year old girls who sit near me freak me out. They told me, "no offense, but there's no way I'd take this class for the first time in the summer. It's too condensed ( big word! Good girl!) for all the information that's coming." The other girl responded, "Oh I KNOW! This stuff is going to get like RULLY crazy". Both of them know this because it is their second time around. Then they looked at me as if I was already half dead, which is so stupid, since I'm barely even 37. I have at least three years before you can call me "half dead".
Today I took the kids to the cheap movie theater to see "Earth". I'm no movie critic, but I really liked it. Will, my four year, old had quite a span of comments as we watched.
1. When are the people coming?
2. I hate this movie.
3. Earth is the best movie I ever saw.
4. When are the people coming to shoot the lion?
5. Do you have any more Nerds?
I tried to block him out by giving him treats, but it was difficult. Anyway, I'd recommend it for a summer outing.
This weekend will be a calm one for us. I'm going to help a friend move and Billy is going to do chores around the house. We also have a list of chores for the kids to do, which is something I don't like to be around for. Billy is much more patient with the kids than I am, and he can watch Jack use Windex on the sliding glass door without angrily taking the rag and saying in a scary sing song voice, "NO JACK! That's not how you do it. You wipe from side to side, THIS WAY. WATCH MOMMY!" So it's better that I go and help my friend and give the children time with Daddy.
If anyone has any great ideas for me to keep my kids busy, and are free, let me know. Their ages are 9, 6, and 4-and we're always looking for an adventure. Happy Summer Peeps.
