Description:

On the seventh anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks the 9/11 Memorial will serve as an appropriate backdrop for reflection and community gathering. A brief ceremony will be held by the 9/11 Memorial Committee, North Metro Fire Rescue District and the City & County of Broomfield. All events are open to the public.

North Metro Fire Rescue and Broomfield Police Department Honor Guards; bagpipers; and bugler will also participate.

The 9/ll Memorial, a multi-piece sculpture by Reynaldo "Sonny" Rivera, captures the sweeping images, the powerful skies, and the events of that day through the thoughtful depiction of each of the three attack sites. Specifically, the memorial grounds feature three life-sized bronze sculptures and three bronze wall inserts depicting each site of the attacks surrounded by flagstone rubble and beautiful landscaping.
