"The Carson J Spencer Foundation is behind a really important cause that doesn't get as much attention as it should. We are all living on this planet together, and either personally or through someone we love we will be touched by mental health struggles," says Storey.

More years of life are lost to suicide than to any other cause of death except heart disease and cancer. In the USA there are 30,000 suicides each year compared to 20,000 homicides. Colorado consistently ranks in the top ten as one of the states with the highest suicide rates in the country.

The Carson J Spencer Foundation is making a difference to change this. Over the past 3 years they have awarded four grants and developed a gatekeeper suicide prevention training program. They have sponsored several mental health awareness events impacting thousands and have developed the only national program exclusively dedicated to suicide prevention in the workplace.
