LITERALLY LEONARD
Ihave been accused of being a"flaming liberal" while only being"anti-Republican."
I have heard through the grapevine that
Jeff Thomas thinks I am a "flaming liberal." I have great respect and a high regard for Jeff and I read all his columns and I am pleased that he may read mine. I would like to clear his concept of me, or define myself as a "flaming liberal."
Actually Jeff. If you read my columns I am more of a "Anti-Republican". Liberals believe in big government. I don't.
Reagan and
Bush do. Liberals believe in excessive spending. I don't. Reagan and Bush both had huge deficits. I don't believe in them and
Clinton didn't have one. If Liberals believe in protecting the environment and the rules to industry to abide by them, I am a Liberal. Reagan and Bush were indifferent to the environment. Liberals believe in welfare and free healthcare. In that case I am a "flaming Liberal." Welfare and healthcare to Americans who are in need are far more important to me than sacrificing our soldiers lives and spending our treasure in Iraq who had no WMD's, nuclear, Al Qeada or nothing to do with 9/11. If Republicans are the party of family values, please explain to me why
Gingrich and
Guilliani alone have over five divorces between them. (because of involvement with other women), while Obana, Clinton and
Edwards have none. I have been married to my first trophy wife over 50 years. We have four college graduated children, and to date two college graduated grandchildren, while Republican friends I know are divorced and have dysfunctional families. While I understand the reasoning for some divorces I believe most of them aren't necessary.
So therefore if all this makes me a flaming liberal, I'm glad I am one.
