In my last column, "Man is the cause of Global Warming". I made two mistakes and I wish to apologize for them:
One thing I said was "Republican conservatives are the only ones who criticize Al Gore on global warming." Someone found one Democrat who wrote a book conflicting Al Gores theories. In addition I should have said, "Republican conservatives are the only ones I know-"
Another Republican Conservative friend of mine told me he believed in global warming and had been against the Iraq war for years. In addition he said he doesn't agree with most of the Bush administrations policies.
I am so glad they have decided to leave the dark side and join the force. I have found these republican friends of mine are intelligent, considerate, and generous. Most are always ready to buy tickets, donate funds or volunteer a great deal to help their community. Most recently they drafted me to help with free blood testing at a church. We worked hard from 6:30 AM to 1:00 PM. For us seniors in our 70's & 80's, that's hard.
One must clearly priorities, mine are; God, Jesus Christ, the earth, mankind, my country then my wife and children and grandchildren, then friends (democrats, independents and republicans) then animals, and plant life.
In other words, if I feel mankind is destroying the earth, I will complain and fight bitterly against those who destroy, whether they be country, friends or relatives, I will not pretend there is no global warming to protect friends in the energy business. I will not pretend its OK for everyone to have automatic weapons because my friends are in the NRA. I will not pretend it is OK for my political party to be involved in fraud, corruption or sexual escapades because they claim to be the party of "family values." I will not pretend to support a president, who's administration cajoled, persuaded and lied to attack another country who had no WMDs, nuclear, relationship to Al Qeada and nothing to do with 9/11 just because I voted for him. Especially, when over 3,200 American soldiers and over 75,000 Iraqis have died. It absolutely makes me angry as hell.
So. I love you guys, BUT.
