Serious proof of global warming

SERIOUS PROOF OF GLOBAL WARMING - By Literally Leonard

We have all heard of the rape and genocide of the refugees in Darfur, part of the Sudan in Africa.

Darfur is a huge area which has had 6 years of drought. Even the nearby mountains are scorched along with the rocky desert. With lakes and rivers all dry it is virtually a desolate desert where you find the decaying bodies of camels, who can go without food and water for weeks.

The years of drought and massive members of displaced people have led to water shortages in refugee camps like Bahai, in northeaster Chad. The farmers and herders have constant conflicts for the remaining land with any vegetation. The remaining populace barely survives and try to leave. That is when the turbaned men on horseback, the Janjaweed appear, rape the women and kill the men and boys.

In Time magazine a column by Alex Perry states: "The devastation of Darfur highlights the potentially catastrophic effects of climate change on societies across all of Africa. The U.N. estimates that the lives of as many as 90 million Africans - most of them in and around the Sahara - could be "at risk" on account of global warming."

In Somalia nearly 20 years of anarchy have been exacerbated by eight years of drought.
In Zimbabwe, relief agencies say President Robert Mugabe's disastrous rule is being overtaken by an even greater catastrophe, a three month drought that wiped out the maize crop, fueling tensions between government haves and opposition have-nots.

On April16, 11 former U.S. admirals and generals published a report for the think tank CNA Corporation that described climate change as a "threat multiplier" in volatile parts of the world. The next day, British Secretary Margaret Beckett hosted the first ever debate on climate change and armed conflict at the U.N. Security Council. "What makes wars start?" asked Beckett. "Fights over water. Changing patterns of rainfall. Fights over food production, land use. There are few greater potential threats to our economies too........ but also to peace and security itself."

So I ask all you "Bush administration environmental skeptics" to please begin looking at the hard science and events, or your children will curse you long after your gone.

A = B = C = D... NOT! The events in Darfur have more to do with the suppression of people by governments and the rape and destruction of the land by peoples just trying to survive. Plus, a lot of Africa is just a giant desert anyway. Maybe they should move. When the "Dust Bowl" happened in America, people moved... they migrated to greener pastures... Mother Nature! She's one cruel, non-partisan, non-prejudicial *****.
