To all of you who use insults "liberally":
I had a good friend call me "Liberally Leonard", or "Leaning to the left Leonard",and those comments rolled off like water because of the way he said it.
But being called a "Blazing Liberal" suddenly by someone I thought was a friend left me dumbfounded. She said it much like an angry person would use the "N" or "M" word. She called me that based on some of my letters to the editor whereby I have written about the Iraq war, the 3,650 dead Americans, the 655,000 dead Iraqis. The fact that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. Had no WMD's, nuclear nor connection to Al Qeada at the time we attacked. And where Al Qeada has grown stronger and larger with new recruits and more donations since the Iraq war. For that she called me a "Blazing Liberal." I probably shouldn't take it seriously but if I was what I believe the name implies I would believe in abortion. I don't. I would believe in excessive government spending. I don't.
This "Conservative" Republican White house is generally responsible for an over $8.7 trillion national debt or ($29,300.00 for every man, woman and child in the US).
I as many Americans do believe in spending for education, healthcare, children, seniors and unemployed single parents. So I guess that makes us "Blazing Liberals". But all of those programs are being cut because we pay more than an annual $565 billion interest payment on the Bush induced national debt.
So should I retort with "Ignorant Conservative" when I'm called a "Blazing Liberal?"
Probaby not. It would only cause more animosity. We need more unity, not more divisiveness.
