Broomfielders in a recession depression

BROOMFIELDER'S IN RECESSION DEPRESSION

A friend showed me an article that stated gas was $1.39 a gallon in the year 2000, the year George Bush and the Republicans took over. Today gas is about $2.79 a gallon, that's a 100% increase or twice as much. I'm sure George and his oil buddies are very happy oil is about $77.00 a gallon or more. More income for the Republican coffers too.

I deal with a lot of Broomfield seniors. Many have been retired for years and have been on fixed incomes. And as we all know the increase in gas also increases transportation costs, manufacturing costs, etc. etc. Any residual income if any, some seniors had was used to helping our children, our grandchildren, a favorite charity or perhaps go on a much desired trip. But with increases in prescriptions, co-pays, groceries, gas and all other things that are transported it is very difficult to help anyone.

I have difficulty understanding why George Bush is OK with funding Iraq at $12 billion a month, but refuses to fund a healthcare system for children that would cost 1/10th as much. Sure it would help some low income families making $20,000 a year. George and his republican supporters seem to think they should be able to buy their own insurance. Even if they must live in a shelter.

I hope and pray that all Broomfielders will elect people who are serious about helping seniors, the middle class and others on fixed incomes and not those who are mostly interested in aiding, abetting and financing their corporate bedfellows.

Paul, Again, you have not a clue!!! And, you are the one promising anything to anyone just to get a vote. That's pretty shameful! What you are promising is more and more government and that's exactly what I DON'T want. Clark has a more down to earth approach; yours seems to be from planet Cannabis!

Leonard you may now understand why I am trying to Broomfield next mayor, everyone is going in different direction and I truely believe, we must lead by example, all Joe cares about is what is good for him and Clark,Clark is lost when it comes to saving money and treating the citizens right, just wait and see how much money he spend on his campaign again and also donate to other candidates that are running for federal position. Clark has travel around Broomfield telling everyone how bad the other candidates are, but still hasn't said what he plans to do, (protect and serve), I didn't know that this was now on the mayor list of things to do list?

OMG... this article is still bugging me... Liberal Leonard is very typical for a liberal, and doesn't understand market conditions regarding supply and demand. BTW: The dems have been in control since about Nov. '06 and where has the price of crude gone??????? From about $63 to about $80 per barrel. I'm sure it means more money for the dem's coffers. See the logic? No? Good, because there isn't any in LM's assertion!

Only liberals are in constant "recession depression". That's the only way they know how to live. They are usually low toned individuals. Watch out... or they'll drag you down by, slurp, slurp, slurping the energy right out of you... They are not happy until you are as miserable as they are.

Mr. Muniz, Your heart is in the right place on health care, but Bush only objects to extending this program to families making 3-400% of the poverty level. He would like to keep it at 200%, and require states to seek out and cover 95% of these families before states extend it to those with higher incomes.

On October 16, Leonard you will learn a very important lesson on Broomfield candidates, I always believe one should practice what they preach. You just keep writing and let just see who will answer the call. Paul F.Madigan
