From Happy Little Dems, Happy Little Trees
Contributed by: Sarah Fong on 4/15/2008

This Saturday in Broomfield, community service organization Democrats Work joined volunteer forces with Eco-Cycle for their annual hard to recycle day.

As is business as usual these days for Democrats Work, the high turnout of attendees lent itself partly to a day of community solvency of household clutter and partly to a day of making new friends and socializing.

Broomfield City Councilman Dennis McCloskey assisted the nearly 200 cars loaded full of questionably reusable household items. Broomfield citizens were greeted by the enthusiastic workforce who helped collect and sort through the recovered refuse.

Current estimates of recycled items are at over 17,000 lbs of electronics, 21 cubic yards of Styrofoam block #6, and 125 lbs of #2 and #4 plastic bags. To learn more about how you can meet your conscientious neighbors and do something productive for your community, go to DemocratsWork.org. If you are interested in recycling in the Front Range, go to ecocycle.org and search for your area.

...Thanks to Democrats Work and Eco-Cycle, somewhere there is a happy piece land, breathing easy for another day of unfettered trashlessness.
