Dianne Primavera is running for House District 33 and answered a questionnaire for YourHub.com. To read all of the candidate questionnaires, click here.

Name: Dianne Primavera

Seat you are seeking: Representative, House District 33.

Age: 58

Family: I have two wonderful daughters who I've raised as a single parent.

Occupation: I am our current State Representative and I am retired after working 28 years for the State of Colorado.

Hometown: Broomfield

Your Web site: www.dianneprimavera.com

Favorite local place to hang out: The Paul Derda Recreation Center or the Ward Carter Dance Studio.

Interests & hobbies: Ballroom dancing, gardening, working out, movies, travel cooking

People who inspired you: John F. Kennedy and people who have sustained and are living with traumatic brain injury

How you have contributed to the community: I have served on the 17th Judicial District Crime Victim's Compensation Board. The Broomfield City Council and Mayor appointed me to two terms on the Broomfield County Health and Human Services Advisory Board. I have been an active Stephen Minister with the Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church, and have served as my class representative for Regis College, raising thousands of dollars in scholarships for students who could not afford to attend Regis without financial aid. I have been a community volunteer since I was 16 and have been appointed or volunteered to serve on many other boards and commissions.

What are the biggest issues facing your constituency now: As I walk throughout my district, I hear from my constituents that the biggest challenge they are facing is how to deal with our current economy. For many, wages haven't been rising nearly as fast as the cost of gas, food and health care. We must address these concerns by stimulating economic growth in our community, and a great way to do that is by continuing to promote our new energy economy. While many industries are currently shedding jobs, companies like Renewable Energy Systems Americas, Vestas, and ConocoPhillips have been adding new green-collar jobs right here in the North Metro area.
