Touch someone's heart!
Contributed by: Paul Madigan on 12/6/2007

Every holiday season we are asked to give, donate or buy gifts for those who need a hand. Well, let's just see what one act of kindness can do and the effect it has on your life and lives of others.

Please remember, it doesn't always take money to give a smile. 'Tis the season in Broomfield to show others that we are caring and sharing community.

So where do you start? Gina Coufal at Friends of Broomfield could use a call, or even stop by 11975 Saulsbury Street and be that person, that family that makes a difference in someone's life. So, that's not for you - well, call Suzanne Baznet at the Broomfield Senior Center and see where you can fit in. Believe me, you will never feel better this season after talking with Suzanne. Next, how about Shirley McGuiness and the great volunteering crew at FISH Inc. 12 Garden Center? Just one visit to FISH will hit you right in the heart.

Other great activities are places like St. Vincent Children Home, 44th & Lowell Blvd. It is looking for help in anyway you can, St. Vincents is for homeless teenagers.

Then there are National Guard families, whose loved ones are away protecting our country. This is dear to me and if you know a National Guard family in this situation, please let me know; there are several groups that want to personally thank them. The list goes on, so this holiday try to get involved, make your own personal difference and let it touch your heart, believe it will make a difference.

I would also like to thank Nathan Gray, Youth Pastor at Good News Community Church located at 5511 W. 136th Ave. Nathan group is offering free babysitting while you do Christmas shopping, while you shop the kids will made holiday cookies and draw colorful cards for you this holiday season.

Finally, I would like to welcome back Pastor Ed Black Jr., who is the pastor of Presbyterian Church of Broomfield. Pastor Black church has open an Adult Day Programs, Tuesday and Thursday at 350 Main Street. Phone# 303-466-4433.

So under the watchful eyes of the Gladys Johnson, you now have a chance to use a great local caretaker and run those errands knowing everything will be well handle while you are away.. Another great asset at the church is the Day Care Services manage by the Karen Davis.
