Contributed by: Tamra Obenauer on 5/1/2008

Aspen Creek K-8 is hosting "Sweets & Treats For Mr. Romero," an Ice Cream Social and Silent Auction on Thursday, May 22nd from 3:30-5:00pm. Don't miss a fun evening of sweets, treats and fabulous gift baskets up for bid. Aspen Creek middle school students will contribute all the creative themed gift baskets for the event.

All the money raised on May 22nd will go to help Mr. Romero, the schools 6th grade Science teacher, who is fighting cancer. With medical bills mounting, every contribution helps.

Mr. Romero was diagnosed last fall with lung cancer and quickly began a regimen of chemotherapy, while still dedicating his days at school to his students. This man has a way children and emulates an amazing spirit and drive that's contagious. He says his students provide him with the energy and inspiration he needs to fight this cancer.

Please come out and suppport Aspen Creek's "Sweets & Treats for Mr. Romero" and give back to a wonderful teacher and member of our community.

If you have a picture of Mr. Romero, can you please post it. A few parents may recognize his picture, verse just his name. Events, like this one, show just how special the citizen's of Broomfield can be. Thanks for letting us know and letting us truly help a great educator.
