Free outdoor movies begin this month!

One of the largest outdoor cinema series in the Denver metro area returns for a fourth season. Movies in the Park, presented by Community Financial Credit Union, draws crowds as large as 1,500 audience members to each movie in Broomfield and Thornton. Four movies will be shown in each of the communities. Following is a complete movie schedule.

Broomfield Commons Park (off Sheridan Blvd., north of Midway/128th Ave.)
Saturday, July 5 • The Bee Movie
Saturday, July 12 • The Sandlot
Saturday, July 19 • The Wizard of Oz
Saturday, July 26 • Transformers

Thornton Multipurpose Fields (108th Ave. and Colorado Blvd.)
Wednesday, July 16 • Alvin & the Chipmunks
Wednesday, July 23 • The Simpsons Movie
Wednesday, July 30 • ET: The Extra-Terrestrial
Wednesday, August 6 • Ghostbusters

All movies are free to the public and are set to begin at dusk (about 8:45 p.m.). The park venues will open at 7 p.m. All audience members are encouraged to bring picnic dinners, snacks, blankets and lawn chairs for the event. Movie-style concessions will also be available.
