Blotter: Man shoots gun in ground at person

MAN SHOOTS GUN IN GROUND AT PERSON

A 63-year-old Broomfield man was arrested July 24 on the 8000 block of Emerald Lane on suspicion of felony menacing and reckless endangerment after he allegedly shot a .45-caliber handgun into the ground near another person while he was threatening to kill that person. The man was held at the Broomfield County Jail.

MAN ARRESTED FOR THEFT, POSESSION

A 47-year-old Greeley man was arrested July 21 on the 11500 block of Teller Street on suspicion of burglary. When officers contacted the man, he had stolen equipment in his car from a Broomfield business and was also in possession of methamphetamine. He was held at the Broomfield County Jail.

TOOLS TAKEN

On July 21, various power tools were taken from inside a vehicle parked on the 1300 block of Elmwood Street. Estimated loss was $2,100.

WASHER, COMPRESSOR TAKEN

On July 21, a construction trailer on the 16700 block of Windom Loop was broken into and a power washer and air compressor from inside were taken. Estimated loss was $2,700 and the estimated damage was $5,000.

HOME BROKEN INTO

A home on the 2800 block of Midway Boulevard was broken into on July 21 and a stereo, jewelry and a lawn mower were taken from inside. The estimated loss was $840.

OWNER CHASES OFF TWO MEN

Two men broke into a car on the 3200 block of West 134 th Avenue on July 22. When the owner heard the racket and confronted the men, they drove off, ditching their vehicle a short while later. There is no suspect information at this time.

MP3 PLAYERS STOLEN OUT OF CARS

Three vehicles on the 14300 block of Waterside Lane were broken into July 22 and two MP3 players, a stereo system and a purse were taken from inside. Estimated loss was $550.

OPEN GARAGE ENTERED

An open garage on the 13100 block of Alcott Place was entered July 24 and two mountain bikes were stolen from inside. Estimated loss was $130.

MAN ARRESTED WITH KNIFE

A 37-year-old Broomfield man was arrested July 25 on suspicion of felony menacing, obstructing a police officer and unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon on the 7400 block of West 120 th Avenue after he allegedly threatened people with a knife. He was held at the Broomfield County Jail.
