My interests and hobbies: Membership in Toastmasters International for 18 years (the world's leading organization to help people develop their leadership & communication skills); reading andhistory.

People who inspired me (and how): My parents by their example of giving back to the community, church and schools
How I have contributed to the community: Current member & chairman of the Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee to Broomfield City Council; served on the Brunner Farm House Task Force which determined the uses for the house and the scope of remodelling; member of Friends of the Library in Broomfield;
served as a book discussion group leader for the One Book - One Broomfield program; served as the District 26 Governor for Toastmasters International, 2001-2002 (elected to lead and serve 3,000 Toastmaster members in 140 Toastmaster Clubs throughout Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska.
What are the biggest issues facing your city now: Resolving our transportation/traffic issues - finding funding for the Wadsworth/US 36 interchange revamp; managing smart residential growth.
