Literally Leonard: U.S. morality breakdown

U.S. MORALITY BREAKDOWN

In Hadithah, 24 unarmed Iraqi citizens who had nothing to do with Sept. 11 or Saddam were mowed down, including women and children. Our soldiers there originally lied about the "incident." They have been serving three or four tours and are probably very tense and paranoid. It's hard to point blame. With the commander-in-chief incapable of telling the truth about Iraq, who can be surprised at duplicity in the ranks? It's OK, the Republican administration has determined it was "collateral damage."

The Iraq war began with accusations by the Bush Administration of WMDs, nuclear weapons and a relationship to Al-Qaida. It was all false. Now we have over 2,450 American soldiers dead and 4,500 maimed, but it's OK, the Republican administration had determined it was justified.

We have a $8.5 trillion national debt - $28,000 for every man, woman and child. But it's OK, the Republican administration says it's justified.

We had torture in Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo and/or wherever we had "terrorist" prisons. Some of the prisoners have been found to be absolutely innocent. But the torture is OK, the Republican administration says its justified. De Lay, Frist, Libby and Cunningham are Republicans involved in fraud and corruption. But it's OK, they are Republicans.

Bush won the election I have read, whereby in Ohio and Florida democratic ballots were hidden or claimed as Republican. But it's OK, the Republican administration is already in.

I recently watched a documentary on the Nazis before and during World War II. The excessive government spending, the fraud, the killing, the lying and cheating all was OK because the Nazi party said it was justified.

Like other parties, they believed they were always right. The Nazis had a trumped up war on Poland, the U.S. on Iraq.
I am sure glad I am a Democrat but starting to feel bad that I am an American.

But I won't leave, I will do my best to fix it. I've heard, "the pen is mightier than the sword."
