Colorado 14ers hold local player tryouts


Broomfield, Colo. - The Colorado 14ers basketball club today announced the dates and the location for the team's third annual local player tryouts. In a primary effort to find local talent for the 2008-09 NBA Development League season, tryouts will be held Sept. 27 and 28 on the 14ers practice court at the Broomfield Event Center. Players can register from 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and will need to be prepared to work throughout the afternoon, evening and Sunday. The first 50 players to register for will be guaranteed for tryouts.

"These tryouts will be a good opportunity to look beyond the players that are a part of the D-League Draft and potentially find local talent," said 14ers Head Coach Bob MacKinnon. "The D-League is all about opportunity and I hope that many of the local players will take advantage of this."

Those interested in tryouts need to complete a registration form, player disclosure form, player release and eligibility form, and the Broomfield Event Center waiver form. Also, send a cashier's check for $150 made payable to Broomfield Hoops, LLC by the Wednesday, September 24, 2008 (Mail all to the attention of Bobby Campbell, Colorado 14ers at 11450 Broomfield Lane, Broomfield, CO 80021). Forms are available online at www.BroomfieldEventCenter.com and at www.14ersHoops.com. Walk-up registration is based on availability.

About the Broomfield Event Center: Located on the south side of U.S. Highway 36, between 112th and 120th Streets, the Broomfield Event Center is a state of the art 180,000 square foot multi-purpose event center with 6,000 seats, including 25 suites, 900 club seats, a sit-down restaurant, two themed bars and a separate basketball practice facility.
