Blog Entry 41 of 128 Buzz by Barbara
I think about a lot of things. I have opinions about most. What good are thoughts and opinions when not shared? I'll show you mine if you'll show me yours. Issues related to education really get me going. I love to dine on the hot potatoes of school accountability, standardized testing, corporal punishment in schools (outlawed in only about 28 states), scrutiny of school staff before hiring, teacher performance standards, and the weeding out of bad apples in education. I promote fitness as the miracle drug most of us seek. No pill will duplicate the health benefits of working our bodies. I strongly support the adage, "Don't breed or buy while shelter animals die." The world does not need more puppies or kittens. A visit to a local shelter is proof. I consider myself schooled in basic personal money management, the entrepreneurial spirit, domestic adoption, motherood in middle age, Baby Boomer issues, Southern culture, and how to cook a meal in twenty minutes. Whew. So, where shall we start?

Snow report III from Castle Pines Village
Contributed by: Barbara Neff   on 10/26/2006

It is 8:30 a.m. Thursday, 10/26, in Castle Pines Village, just north of Castle Rock, and baby, we've got snow!

Though not blizzard conditions, we have at least six inches of snow on the ground that fell during the night and it's still coming down. It is gorgeous.

Here is a look out our back door just five minutes ago.

Let's share weather reports. How much white stuff did everbody get?

Update......at 8:30 this morning Mother Nature offered only a preview. Here is Castle Pines Village the snow has fallen continuously all day. It is now 2:30 p.m. and we have eighteen inches or more and it continues to fall!

See Photo Number Two taken moments ago.

What's happening in other areas?

5:00 p.m. and it appears to be over. The snow stopped and slush is setting in. See Photo Number Three for the final update shot.

The end....illustrated by Photo Number Four.

Over and out!

We spent the day plowing in C P Village. It kept coming and coming and....when I got home it was so deep I couldn't get up my own driveway!!

Beautiful pictures! We had about 6 inches in Arvada. I spent a nice cozy day inside.

I was off yesterday because I'm working this weekend, so I was a little happy that I was indoors when the snow hit.

I would say about 4-6 inches up north. Very wet but the roads are clear. When I got home at 3ish, I barely needed to shovel.

Lemme tell ya, the six to eight inches of snow I reported this morning was a mere warm-up. At 2:30 p.m., we are at eighteen inches and it is STILL coming down!!! I'll post a shot in a few minutes.

It is already slushy in downtown Denver, but I hear it's a lot worse down south. Here's my report: http://denver.yourhub.com/DENVER/Blogs/Life/Philosophy/Blog~142532.aspx

There's been so much blowing in Parker that it's hard to tell, but it was still coming down when I left for work (and the roads are nasty ice-pack beneath, with slush splashing and freezing, so if ya doesn't have to go out, DON'T)!
