Oh Snow!
Contributed by: Mike Bates   on 12/21/2006

Oh Snow!

We got a little snow overnight and it's still snowing. Not looking good for our road trip. Here is what it's like for me. I got the garage open last night but it wouldn't open this morning, Joe from down the street had to come dig it out after hearing it only go up 6 inches and stopping again and again from me trying to break it free.

We were trapped in our house but now our front door is now clear. The wife called and is resigned to thinking we won't be leaving tomorrow. I am pretty sore now, I moved a ton of snow where I had to scoop 3-4 times to clear 30 inches deep to gain one foot on the driveway with still a bunch to do, all the while tending to a toddler. Even if the wife could get here from Wyo. she'd have to park at King Soopers and hope I can get the truck out of the neighborhood.

I-25 is still closed between here and Denver and Cheyenne and the Colo. border, they have reservations tonight in Cheyenne if they can get that far. It's still just cold in Rawlins where the side spent her week.

My 4 YO has a new appreciation for deep snow and not being cold and wet in it.

Have a great day!
