In a letter to Harrison Hiebert, dated Oct. 31, on behalf of Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, Inc.
"I'd like to to thank you for entering The Next Gourmet Burger Kids Contest. I'm excited to tell you that we received more than 16,000 entries, and your Gourmet Burger stood out amongst the rest!" signed,
Annette Miller
, Director of Communications for Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, Inc.
Harrison Hiebert
, fourth grader , was generously awarded with a $50 gift card to Red Robin Restaurant. Harrison says he loves Red Robin and wants to be a chef one day.
This career choice was chosen in kindergarten and he has not strayed from that passion. Harrison changed schools this year and was ironically put into a classroom where his male teacher was once a chef himself and owned a popular restaurant.
He is excited for Harrison and tried out his burger creation after Harrison entered it. He made no recommendations and said it was really good.
Harrison's recipe will be added to the other finalists for a chance to have his creation published in a cookbook due out next summer.
"When Harrison received his gift card, he wanted to immediately take it back to the restaurant to have them donate it to the Castle Rock Task Force Food Bank," says mom, "Harrison's always been a giving kid, he has a heart for it. He says he'd like to own his own restaurant one day and provide food for the hungry free, one time a month."
Executive Director of the Food Bank,
Suzanne Greene
says in a letter, after receiving the gift card, "We are so proud of you for donating your prize gift certificate to the Task Force! It was very generous and very kind of you to think of other people in need when you could easily have spent the gift certificate on yourself. I know that you family must be very proud of you, and I want you to know that we are, too, Greene adds."
"Family and church are proud, very proud, buddy, keep it up!, says mom."
