Centennial twirler puts Colorado on the map

Colorado Twirlers Represented their state well this summer at several Regional & National Twirling Competitions held throughout the country.

Meredith Winnefeld, 12, of Centennial made her way across the country this past summer picking up many prestigious awards along the way.

Her first stop after,qualifiying in State and Regional competition, was at the University of Notre Dame for N.B.T.A.'s (National Baton Twirling Association) "Miss Majorette of America" Competition. There she won the following titles:

2006 National Pre-teen Rythmic Twirl Champion
2006 National Solo and Duet Pom Champion
2006 National Jazz Dance Champion age 10-12

2006 Pre-teen National X-Strut Champion
First Place Advanced 10-12 Strut Off
First Place Beginning 2 baton, age 11
2nd Place Show Twirl
10th place Overall- Preteen Miss Majorette of
America


Continuing to the East Coast, a tired, but inspired Meredith attended the 2006 Jr. Olympics inVirginia. She came home with three Gold Medals. One for Dance Twirl, one for Freestyle, one for Baton Solo, and one in Military.

The life of a Twirler never stops: If you would like to see Meredith in action, she will be performing at Clement Park this Saturday the 23rd at "Josh & Gus's Run for a Reason" Annual Fundraiser.
