What I do: Physician with specialty in forensic pathology and Coroner and for Arapahoe County

My favorite place in town to hang out: My home

What I like most about living here: The people, the mountains and the weather

My interests and hobbies: Pottery, music and the outdoors

What is my favorite thing to cook: Thanksgiving dinner

People who inspired me (and how): My father who inspired my work ethic by his example.

How I have contributed to the community: Thirteen years as Coroner for Arapahoe County, my service to the Department of Homeland Security (provided forensic expertise in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks on the WTC and Hurricane Katrina, my teaching responsibilities at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and my duties as one of the national spokespersons for the College of American Pathologists.

What are the biggest issues facing Arapahoe County now: The availability of affordable medical coverage and the growing gap between the rich and poor.
