Bright red and yellow leaves resting on a blanket of white snow. Rocky Mountain Columbines peeking over a granite boulder. An aspen grove shrouded in snowy mist. These images and many more from famed Colorado photographer
John Fielder are now on display at The Wildlife Experience through Dec. 10.
John Fielder's Intimate Colorado Landscapes is a collection of 19 photographs by photographer John Fielder. Five of these photographs have never before been printed. Borrowing the phrase "intimate landscape" coined by celebrated American landscape photographer
Eliot Porter, Fielder's exhibit makes the case that landscapes need not contain a horizon to be sublime. Water, snow, wildflowers, aspen trees and more pervade this portfolio designed exclusively for The Wildlife Experience and will certainly heighten your appreciation for Colorado's natural environment.
Throughout the duration of the exhibit, John Fielder will be making several appearances at The Wildlife Experience. To celebrate the release of his first children's book, Fielder will be at the museum on Oct. 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. selling pre-released copies of
Do You See What I See? and giving a special presentation complete with digital images. Light fare will be served, and the author of the book,
Claudia Cangilla McAdam, will be giving a reading from the book. Both John Fielder and Claudia Cangilla McAdam will be signing books after the reading. This event is free to members of The Wildlife Experience and is $10 for adult nonmembers and $5 for children non-members.
Spend a month with John Fielder! Each Wednesday in the month of November, John Fielder will give presentations on photography and Colorado from 7 to 9 p.m. His books will be on sale and he will be available for discussions and book signings following his presentations.
