The Lone Tree Arts Commission in partnership with South Suburban Parks and Recreation presents another Passport to Culture FREE performance onSunday, October 21, 3 pm, at Lone Tree Recreation Center, 10249 Ridgegate Circle.
In Search Of Giants, written by playwright Betsy Tobin, is a puppet theater story of a child named Ian and his quest for legendary heroes. Aided by his magical guide, Miranda, he passes through a series of encounters with various creatures gaining clues that lead him ever closer to his goal.
In Search of Giants characters appear on a set, created by Mireille Martini, that evokes the sea, the shore, mountain peaks, a river, the spring and a volcano. The adventures of Ian and Miranda are accompanied by Michael Stanwood's inventive music using a wide variety of instruments.
Playwright, Betsy Tobin, has received numerous awards for her performances of original productions integrating acting, puppetry, shadows and mask theatre. Since July 1992, Betsy Tobin has lived in Boulder, Colorado and performed nationwide, most extensively in Washington State and in Colorado.
She has also studied screenwriting and story structure and written three screenplays. Across 12 time zones, Betsy Tobin has presented more than 1,000 performances to more than 100,000 people of all ages.
