New nonprofit theatre company in Highlands Ranch!

Troupe! will be opening it's doors in June of 2006. They offer high quality, fun-filled theatre classes for teens and pre-teens age 10 and up. Troupe's Summer Session classes can be found at www.troupetheater.com.

In the future this enterprising group will offer plays for children and for the community, yoga classes for kids, as well as high quality theatre classes.

Melissa Shank (the founder and class instructor at Troupe!) has been teaching theatre since age 12 when she taught a puppeteering class at her church. Since then she has had many opportunities to teach theatre classes and direct plays at Wheat Ridge Middle School, The Denver Center for the Performing Arts, South High School, and Highlands Ranch High School. Melissa received her B.A. in Theatre from the University of Colorado in 2000 and her M.A. in Education from the University of Phoenix in 2005. She is a licensed teacher in the state of Colorado with current certifications in CPR, first aid, and yoga instruction. She has won awards, scholarships, and recognition for performances and for volunteer work in the community, but it has always been her dream to open a non-profit community theatre.
