A 25-year-old Highlands Ranch man got out of his car and attempted to run away after he was pulled over for allegedly running through a stop sign March 1. According to a report, police attempted to pull over the man at 1:49 a.m. after he ran a stop sign at the intersection of Gilbert and South streets. The officer activated his lights, but the man drove another 200 yards, stopped the car, got out and ran from the vehicle into a nearby field, according to the report. The officer gave chase but the man eventually stopped, kneeled on the ground and put his hands behind his head, police said. When the officer asked the man why he had run, he responded, "because I've been drinking," according to the report. He was arrested on suspicion of eluding, DUI and failure to stop at a stop sign.
A 34-year-old Castle Rock man was arrested for suspicion of drunk driving Feb. 28 after he struck a cement center divider and careened his truck into an embankment, according to a report. Police say he wasn't injured in the accident. According to a report, an officer noticed the man's truck at about 6:45 p.m. in an embankment near the intersection of Fifth and Sixth streets. As the officer approached the truck, the man allegedly attempted to start the car but the ignition only made a grinding sound, according to a report. The officer stated he asked the man what had happened and quickly caught a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on the man's breath. The man stated he had hit a car. When the officer asked him where, he replied, "right here," according to the report. It turned out the man never hit a car but instead hit a cement barrier down the road. He was issued a summons for DUI and careless driving, police said.
A clothing store in the Outlets at Castle Rock was robbed of more than $1,300 worth of perfume March 2. According to a report, an officer was dispatched to the Ralph Lauren Polo Store, 5050 Factory Shops Blvd., Suite 800, at 11:26 a.m. to investigate a possible theft. An employee at the store showed the officer a videotape of a woman who appeared to have stolen about 28 bottles of Ralph Lauren perfume, according to the report. The videotape showed the woman entering the store and walking over to the women's fragrance tower. Another woman then walked over to her and held up a shirt to block the view of the sales people while the other ripped off the anti-theft sensors. The perfume bottles were estimated at $47.40 each, according to the report.
Police are investigating an armed robbery of a fast-food restaurant that occurred March 7. According to a report, an unidentified man walked into Subway sandwich shop at 110 S. Wilcox St. at about 8:47 p.m. and demanded money from the employee working the cash register, police said. The man then fled the business. Officers set up a perimeter and released K-9 dogs, but no track could be detected, according to a report.

A 38-year-old Castle Rock woman was arrested March 7 after she allegedly smashed another woman's head into the side of a pickup truck. The dispute apparently arose over a game of poker. According to a report, deputies were dispatched to Rockyard American Grill & Brewing Company, 880 W. Castleton Drive, at 11:30 p.m. on a report of an assault. They met with the victim, a 25-year-old Colorado Springs woman, who stated a woman in the restaurant attacked her. According to her testimony, she had just knocked the woman out of a poker tournament when the woman became upset and started calling her names not fit for a family newspaper. The 38-year-old allegedly followed the 25-year-old outside and kept taunting her until she kicked her in the stomach, grabbed her by the hair and smashed her head against a truck. The woman shouted a few more insults and then left the area with her boyfriend. A witness at the scene confirmed the victim's story, according to the report. The woman was later pulled over by a deputy and arrested for third-degree assault.
A 26-year-old Highlands Ranch man claimed another man pointed a gun at him in the heat of a road rage incident March 9. According to deputies, the Highlands Ranch man was attempting to make a right-hand turn at the intersection of Wildcat Reserve Parkway and University Boulevard when he was cut off by a man driving a red Dodge Neon. The man stated he followed the man who had cut him off for a few blocks before he decided to let it go. But the man noticed the red Neon behind him a few minutes later and the driver waved at him while flashing a gun, according to the report. The man in the Neon eventually turned onto Fairview Parkway and disappeared. The witness failed to get the license plate number, according to a report.
A 56-year-old Highlands Ranch woman had a $10,000 ring stolen from her house sometime between the dates of Feb. 14 and Feb. 21. According to the report, the woman, who lives on the 9700 block of S. Chanteclair Circle, discovered her ring was missing Feb. 21. There are no leads in the case but deputies report the woman said she believes a cleaning lady may have stolen it and a $300 watch as well.
A 23-year-old Lone Tree woman had more than 500 CDs stolen from her car during the early hours of March 13. According to deputies, the woman stated someone smashed out the back window of her 2007 Jeep Cherokee to gain entrance to her car between the hours of 1:30 and 7:40 a.m. The woman said her vehicle was parked in her apartment parking lot on the 10100 block of Park Meadows Drive in Lone Tree when her CDs were stolen. The total damage and loss was estimated at approximately $5,400, according to the report.
