As you know, the Town of Castle Rock commenced work on improvements to Ridge Road this summer. This is the first step in the planned Southeast Arterial Connection, which will connect Ridge Road to Miller Boulevard and Plum Creek Parkway.
The town's public works department recently released its first issue of "TAP Update," which provides news about the status of all projects authorized by the voters when they approved the $30 million transportation bond in April 2005.
According to the update:
"Construction on the connection to Plum Creek Parkway/Miller Boulevard is expected to begin in July or August 2008. . . The work will finish with the placement of the asphalt surface and striping, which is expected to be complete by August 2009.
"The road was designed to fit into existing terrain and to minimize visual impacts to surrounding properties. It ultimately will have two lanes in each direction that are divided by a median. There will be on-street bike lanes and two roundabouts - one at the intersection of Ridge Road and Enderud Boulevard and the other where Ridge Road and the connecting road meet."
