Blog Entry 100 of 102 A Journalist's Musings
As a journalist, I don't often have the opportunity to share my opinion. So I thought I'd come over here and share my point of view on matters affecting our community and the state. I'm not afraid to take a stand, and I welcome the conversation that will follow if you tell me your point of view!

Town has places to give to less fortunate

During this holiday season it's sometimes easy to forget that there are people, even in prosperous Douglas County, who are poor, sick or dying. Not every child will get a present, and some children and adults won't get enough to eat.

It's easy for you to give to those who are less fortunate right here in Castle Rock. You can drop off non-perishable food and spare change at all Castle Rock fire stations and at Town Hall, 100 N. Wilcox Street. In addition, there are drop-boxes for the Toys for Tots campaign at all town fire stations and at the Castle Rock Recreation Center, 2301 Woodlands Boulevard.

Fire stations are located at 300 Perry Street, 5463 E. Sovereign Street, 3801 Prairie Hawk Drive and 3833 Crowfoot Valley Road.

Thanks are due to fire chief Art Morales and his band of heroes, as well as town manager Mark Stevens and all those who have supported placing these collection points in town, for their efforts to make this holiday season a happy one for everyone in our community.
