Oops -- the PG comment!

Have you ever told someone congratulations or ask them how far along are they if they looked pregnant and it turns out that they're not?

As of last weekend I am one of those guilty people. I walked into a bakery over the weekend and the girl behind the counter was about my age and looked pregnant. I mean she wasn't large any where except for her belly... so of course the first thing I think of is that she is pregnant.

So being a friendly person like I am I made a comment, " oh you're pregnant" and in response I get, "I am NOT pregnant". How embarrassing!

I was horrified that I actually told this young person basically that she was so large in the belly that I could only think that she was pregnant! I felt awful!

I think I told her 3 times that I was sorry. I wonder if I am the only person that has ever told her that?

Have you had an embarrassing moment like this and would like to share it? Write on I want to read them!

I wonder how that poor girl at the bakery felt after reading your contribution?

I assumed this one time with a co-worker and asked Brendan to confirm it with me. He said, "Oh, I'm not going there."

Karin, Ha that is horrible! I had one person ask me in the passed if I was pg.. I had a complex for a few weeks. HA Half of the tops that I own look like maternity tops... it is the style that is out now and I am loving it.

I tend to repress the precise memory of when I say stuff like that, but I enjoy when people unintentionally do it to me; it makes a funny story. I actually had the opposite experience. An amply-sized woman collared me at the Wal-Mart, admiring my maternity overalls, asking where they were in the Plus Size department. She assumed I was fat, not pregnant! Okay, so I was both.
