If you were driving in or out of the Meadows on the morning of Saturday the 4 th, you no doubt heard the roar of 3A and 3B supporters sporting their turquoise tee shirts with their signs and voices raised. This was a part of a countywide effort orchestrated by the Citizens 4 DC Schools to get the support of voters in getting 3A and 3B passed on November 4 th.
Please note that these two school district measures will appear at the bottom of the long ballot as issues 3A and 3B.
You can go to the website
www.Citizens4DCSchools.com to see all the reasons we believe it needs to be passed. You can also log on to the school district website at

There are a couple points that stand out to me the most. The average DCSD high school has the network capacity of 5 Douglas County homes. In this world of technology, it is simply unacceptable that our children not be on the cutting edge of technology education and receive the very best that can be offered. We have the technology ability and the talent to teach, but we are falling dangerously behind competing school districts in terms of network capacity. Secondly, if this is not passed, most elementary schools will be moved to the 4 track calendar with very little hope that they can ever return to a traditional calendar. Based on a home valued at $372,000, the passage of these two measures would come to only 33 cents a day.
Castle Rock was recognized nationally in July, 2007 when it was chosen by Family Circle magazine as one of the 10 Best Towns for Families. If we become the town that does not heartily support our school district by putting our money where our mouth is when it comes to the best for our children... Castle Rock, Parker, and Highlands Ranch will not be on any "best" lists in the future.
