DCSD open enrollment application period now open

The Douglas County School District has started accepting applications for open enrollment for the 2008-2009 school year. The application period runs from December 1, 2007 through January 15, 2008.

Note that some schools are closed to open enrollment, which means they limit enrollment to students that live within their "boundary areas." These schools include Castle Rock, Rock Ridge and Flagstone Elementary Schools. The DCSD website indicates that the new Mesa Middle School is expected to be at or near capacity, which means there might not be much room for kids outside of the boundary area to attend there under the open enrollment program.
