Blog Entry 32 of 115 Rampart Mick's Idle Thoughts
Really, that's all my writing is. I appreciate your input / feedback and I encourage each of you to try writing and submitting yourself! The worst that can happen (we hope) is you will be called asinine and an idiot, or clueless, and if I can get over THAT, surely you can too.

I've been transferred!
Contributed by: Michael Rule   on 5/15/2007

Last Thursday went like most Thursdays. I worked all day, collected the mail and pulled the Rocky Mtn. News from my tube at the end of the road.

First, I have to admit something. YourHub has hooked me in. When it first appeared I was a bit, well, doubtful. I didn't even know what a blog was.

It was Susan who first inspired me. "You're a god writer. Why don't you submit something?" Who would want to read my drivel, I thought? Still, I gave it a go. It was pretty exciting to see my thoughts in print a week or so later!

So, back to last Thursday. I was finally home. I cracked a beer, pulled out the YourHub section and starting going through it. I didn't see anything I recognized other than the story on climbing in Castlewood. Wow, I remember thinking, they have a bunch of new writers here! Great!

Slowly it dawned on me. No "Buzz by Barbara." No police beat by Joey. Nothing I really recognized at all. Lots of stuff on Parker, though. I don't hit YourHub.com every day, but I do try to keep up with what people are writing. The whole thing seemed rather strange.

Okay, I'm a little slow on some things. I didn't even bother to look at the top of the front page at first, but when I finally did, there it was.

Parker, Franktown. I had been transferred. Realigned. Demographically shifted. Sent off to a new and frightening place.

Aaarrrggghhhh!

Nothing against all the folks in Parker. I just don't really like the place all that much. I go there as little as possible.

Franktown is nice, other than all the bikers on the weekends drinking at the Stagecoach, but oh yeah, I already wrote that blog.

I have been around the Larkspur, Castle Rock, Sedalia area for over 25 years now. Those are my roots! They are where I work, shop, socialize, observe the goings on, and watch life happen before me.

So what do I do? Can the powers that be somehow be persuaded that Larkspur deserves a Castle Rock YourHub?

Must I resort to lurking about the B & B for extra copies laying forgotten on tables, coffee stained and folded?

Is this the end of my short (but interesting) career as a YourHub contributor? Nothing personal again, but I really don't have much to say to the folks in Parker. I have no feel for the beat of that town at all.

Oh powers that be....HELP!

Say it ain't so, Mick!! Our hub is YOURhub. In no way can we allow Parker/Franktown to take you from us. I see Joey is on it. Let's place our faith in him.
