Creek improvements and Preble's mouse
Contributed by: William Flentje   on 4/7/2007

I notice that the city is doing work on the creek the goes under Wilcox street at 2nd street.

Question -Is this Preble's mouse territory? I understand the area, west of Wilcox has been considered protected because of the mouse.

Was an envrionmental study done and approved before the destruction of the natural habitat began?

Just wondering.

Good question, though I would have to question how "natural" this area is. From Wilcox & 2nd to Wolfensberger Rd. there isn't a lot of "natural" habitat left. Unless you mean overgrown weeds and some non-native russian olive slowly covering the concrete rubble and other fill. I am happy to see the improvements; Plum Creek could be a highlight of the town. Keep writing, William!
