Blog Entry 5 of 22 Changing My Thinking
I know how to eat healthy, but often make unhealthy choices. And, exercise... what's that? I sporatically exercise and make attempts at eating healthy. That's better than nothing, right? It's a beginning.

The Chocolate Idol
Contributed by: Julie Robinson   on 4/7/2006

I was really glad to go back to work today after being home all week with a sick 3 year old.

I am feeling less bloated since beginning eating only to hunger. I ate my usual breakfast this morning and haven't been hungry yet. We are going out to dine at lunch, I'll let you know how that goes. My husband is doing the Weigh Down with me, but he only has a few pounds on his middle to take off. He's so good about doing things with me and was inspired by my blogs.

I have had a few moments of temptation where I felt like my heart skipped a beat - like a love affair - it was over a chocolate donut.

King Soopers makes chocolate donuts to die for (or die after, whichever). I called them to ask how much fat and calories was in one of those long johns with chocolate cream filling. They haven't returned my calls. It's probably catastrophic. I think they swipe the top twice with the chocolate fudgy topping. Anyhow, a love affair is what I have had. And, not to say I will never have another. I know I could eat one if I was hungry. Funny thing is, I have found that I am not hungry with my STOMACH for one. I'm hungry with something deeper that makes my heart skip. Interesting. Probably could have therapy over that one. But, what I do is pray. I firmly believe that God cares that I am not giving my heart to this chocolate idol I have seemed to worship. God wants my heart given to Him.
