As some of you may know I am in the process of moving into my new home. The other night we moved the couch.
Now this couch is not your ordinary low cushion couch. It is leather, oversized with 3 seats and I bet it weighs over 200 pounds. Instead of getting my brother to help us which would have been the normal thing to do my husband insisted we do it ourselves.
So we arrive at the townhome and proceeded to try to get this thing out of the truck. I don't know if any of you have ever seen me but I don't have a lot of upper body strength especially to carry half the burden of a large couch. What was my husband thinking?
We had to carry it inch by slow inch around to the side of the townhome building then over to where our yard is then through the yard. On the way my arms give and I dropped it. Opps. What do you expect?
I don't have any muscles and that thing weighs a ton! We get to the door... and it's too big! We spent a good five minutes trying to figure that out. Finally it makes it inside the door but we can't turn it to get it into the living room.
So I had the bright idea of going down the stairs then tilting it up to stand then pushing it into the living room. That worked out great. However, I had to walk down the stairs with this thing alone I might add and then try my hardest to PUSH it up.
Ryan couldn't help me out at all because of how we were set up so I was stuck alone, trying to push up a 200 plus couch. If it wasn't for the meat I have on my legs I doubt I could have EVER gotten it up! While I was grunting, yelling, and cursing my way through this I could hear my husband repeatedly saying "SHUSH your being too loud!"
Um, I am the one pushing up this couch your not slacker! Talk about a workout. It is now two days later and my body is screaming from that effort. My triceps, biceps, and yes legs are killing me!
Never again will I move something that is double if not triple my body weight!
