It is almost here!
The 2008
Ride the Rockies bike ride is less than two weeks away, and I am our team's photojournalist and
Blog Chief on my Dell laptop.
Our team is rather small this year, in fact it is tiny, a team of one, my wife. I heard her talking to Cheeeser friends in Wisconsin last night on the phone and telling them about her Blog that made me realize I had forgotten all about it. So I spent until late last night and most the day today setting it up,
http://rtr.milehighdad.com is the address.
I am not riding for the second year, not because I don't want to, (really I do, NOT) after watching all the riders during last year's ride break camp and take off for the long road ahead, I was jealous and hated the fact I wasn't riding.
Then I finished breaking down then posting last year's chronicles, which can be found at the above URL in a link near the top of the page and headed off through NW Colorado to the next destination; being the Sherpa and to set camp for the team. Then when I would see riders straggle in I was SO glad it was not me! Besides all that my son would not stand for both of us (meaning him) to be gone all day every Saturday training for the thing so I graciously stepped aside and let her have the glory.
Same thing will happen this year I am sure, except one major difference, I will have my five YO with me, and I am an At Home Dad so it should not be any big deal right? Ya right, so do not be surprised to read in my Chronicling that I booted mom from her bike so I could get tranquility and composure to my vacation. Like that would ever happen, for one thing her Trek is too small for me and is a crotch rocket of a bike with 20 Gazillion gears and I'm used to a mountain bike pulling either a tag a long or Burley to and from the pool, till this summer.
My son will have his bike with us, hopefully he will be constrained enough and not bolt from me as I pull my
Bob Trailer back and forth full of camping gear to our 12x12 autonomy of solitude in a tent city of thousands.
So bookmark her
Blog and be sure to check back.
Then be sure to come back here and see how I am doing.
I hope she lets me live to tell about it!
